Woodturning 101 — Introduction to Woodturning*
Learn about the fastest growing craft activity in the USA. Learn about wood lathe operation, tools, and safest turning techniques. Class includes extensive written materials, fun turning activities of increasing complexity and projects to take home. Skill Level: Beginning. Prerequisite: willingness to learn something new and fun. Textbook: A Lesson Plan for Woodturning sold in class $20. (10 weeks)

Woodturning 150 — Advanced Spindles Workshop*
More project-based training in the basic of woodturning, project will build skills while creating new and interesting items. Work on specific skills or tool usage. Projects are listed in the appendix A Lesson Plan for Woodturning. Textbook: A Lesson Plan for Woodturning sold in class $20. (6 weeks)

Woodturning 201 — Basic Bowl Turning*
The next step in woodturning is learning about new tools and techniques used to turn wooden bowls. Discussion will include information on good design and multiple techniques for mounting and turning. Woodturning 301 — Advanced Bowl Turning*
Intensive class to hone your bowl turning skills by learning the proper use of the bowl gouge, scrapers and other tools that will minimize sanding. The program will also focus on shape and form including both finished edge and natural edge green wood bowls. Textbook: A Lesson Plan for Woodturning sold in class $20. Prerequisite: Woodturning — 201 Basic Bowl Turning or Instructor approval. (5 weeks)

Woodturning 499 — Turning a Funeral Urn - Your Last Project* This course will focus on turning a lidded hollow form that can be used as a funeral urn. We will complete a small urn (sometimes called a pet funeral urn) to learn the skills needed for a full size project. The program will include creating a pleasing shape, using hollowing tools and techniques and developing a threaded insert and lid for the vessel. Come and learn how to complete what could be your final project! Prerequisite: Woodturning 201 Basic Bowl Turning — or Instructor approval. (5 weeks)

Class will show you how to turn miniatures – bowls, plates, vases, etc. Topics to be covered will be how to choose the wood, mounting of the wood, and what tools are needed. You’ll be able to turn any type of small keepsake you want to try. (4 weeks)
